Buy bottles large and small, sometimes, your baby will be hungrier than others. Playtex Diaper Genie Opinions Collection 1

So here i am trying to help you bringing user opinion regarding playtex diaper genie, hope at least it will make you know for sure about your decision.

1. mixed bag

Pros:  Very convenient package that is easy to use and self contained.
Cons:  Expensive refills.
The Bottom Line:  Get one if you have the pesos to burn, otherwise stick to old grocery bags. Sort of like turbo charging your lawn mower- nice, but not required.

We originally got the Diaper Genie I as a gift and used it all the time. It worked well and did what it was advertised to do. Other than the cost of having to buy refills for the bag system, the only other problem was a broken lid latch. To Playtex's credit, it only took a short phone call and a new lid assembly (not just the latch) was in the mail. A minor annoyance was the requirement to wind up the loaded diaper when pushing it in to keep the stench from coming out. Invariably, the smell would still leak out, but it was a convenient device at 2:00 in the morning when having to change a diaper without having to find a special bag and the trashcan- just flip open the lid, jam in the diaper, give it a twist and slap the lid shut. Voila.

playtex diaper genie
Two years later with the birth of our second child, we acted on the recommendations of a friend who said the DG II was a vast improvement and worth the $20 investment. I do like the design better- fewer moving parts means less things to break. No more twisting a pile of poopy diapers to make a seal (which invariably lead to a twisted poop filled caterpillar when it came time to empty it). There is still a little poof of stink when you push in a new diaper, but it is still a better system than the older version. My only gripe with the DGII is that there seems to be less material in the refill than the older style. The refill cartridge is about half the size of the older one but still costs the same price. Some day when I have an excess of time and money, I will buy one of each refill, pull them out in the street in front of my house and SEE which one has more or less material.

Unfortunately, after being furloughed from my job, $5 is a little excessive for a used diaper holder. Back to walmart bags for diaper disposal we go.

2. Amazing product! I'm so glad I don't have to use a regular garbage can!

Pros:Keeps odors in the pail! Is small in size! Works like it's supposed to.
Cons:Gets smelly when changing liner. Have to buy cassette refills, doesn't use regular bags.
The Bottom Line:Just get it!!! You will NOT regret it! Unless of course you like the smell of dirty diapers...

General Description
The Diaper Genie II Diaper Pail is similar to a kitchen garbage can. It’s about the same size. It’s white. It’s plastic.
It doesn’t use a regular garbage bag. It uses liners from a Diaper Genie II Cassette.
The Pail has a lid, and the whole top also opens. It also opens in the middle - separating the Pail into two by a hinge.
When you open the lid, there is a drop-down door - a platform that pushes down about 6 inches and springs back up into place when you let go.
To install a cassette, you open the whole top (not just the lid), set the cassette onto the pail, and shut the top. You then open the lid and push the liner through the drop-down door. You open the Pail in the middle and tie the bottom of the liner into a knot. Then close the Pail.
To dispose of a diaper, you open the lid, push the diaper through the drop-down door, and then snap the top closed. Simple!
When the liner is full, you can no longer push a diaper through the drop-down door. The Pail opens in the middle of the Pail. You pull the liner filled with diapers out through this opening in the middle of the Pail.
There is a little scissors symbol on a slot, which you can then slide the liner into and it cuts the liner for you! This is much like the cutter on floss.
Then you tie the top of the liner that is filled with diapers, and throw it out. Tie the bottom of the liner that is remaining in the Pail, and close the Pail.
What I Like About The Diaper Genie II:
I’ve never used the original Diaper Genie, so I can’t compare the two. But this Pail is amazing! I don’t smell any foul odors - not even when I stand next to it.
Ease of use is unbelievable!
The pail itself doesn’t take up much space. I keep it in the corner, right next to the changing table.
The liner lasts a long time before you have to buy a Cassette Refill. I’d say it lasts about a month.
My daughter is 3 months old and has only just begun eating baby food, but I'll update as she gets a bit older as to how the Diaper Genie II holds up!

What I Don’t Like About The Diaper Genie II:
Cassette refills are more expensive then regular old garbage bags would be if you didn’t use the Diaper Genie II (BUT it’s worth it!)
When it comes time to change the liner, the smell can be overwhelming!

3. Diaper Genie II Grants Wishes

Pros:  Stylish look. Keeps the stink in. Ease of use.
Cons:  No foot pedal for opening lid.
The Bottom Line:  Great product that delivers. I would suggest this to any parent with little ones.

playtex diaper genieAs a new parent, I was a little worried about changing a diaper for the first time. Even more nerve racking, in my mind, was what the smell would be. Is the stink going to linger around the house while it sits in a basket? Enter the Diaper Genie II!

The Diaper Genie II is a short, white, kitchen trashcan-looking, diaper eating machine. When registering for the Diaper Genie II, I was hoping it would work. I have heard nothing bad about the original Diaper Genie so why not give this one a shot? At the time of purchase, the Diaper Genie II cost $29.99 at our local Babies R Us. Genies are supposed to come out of a bottle and grant three wishes. Here were my three wishes for this Genie.

Wish #1: Easy to use
Well, that came true. The Diaper Genie II allows you to do everything with one hand. After you change the baby’s soiled diaper, you head towards the Diaper Genie II. With one hand free, you can open the lid and push the diaper through the spring loaded air-tight smell stopper. You then close the lid, and you are done.

After you open the outer lid, you will see a slanted peace of white plastic. This plastic is held tight with springs. All you do is push the diaper through the little doorway and it closes as you pull your hand out. The diaper will be placed into a blue plastic bag, until disposal. When the door is hard to push open, the Diaper Genie II is full. You then take the top half off, use the attached plastic cutter, get rid of diaper bag, pull more blue plastic bag out, tie a knot, presto!

Wish #2: No bad odor
Another wish granted. I have had the Diaper Genie II filled to the max, and what did I smell? Nothing! There is not an occurrence of any kind of diaper odor. It does not matter if there is 1 or 30 diapers in the Diaper Genie II, you will not smell them.

The only time you will smell anything, is when you are changing the bag. I feel that is to be expected. There is not a whole lot you can do about that. You have an open plastic bag; it’s going to stink a little. Just try to tie a quick knot, and throw the bag outside.
playtex diaper genie

Wish #3: Easy bag replacement
This came true, too! Once you dispose the old diaper filled bag, pull down on the Diaper Genie II refill, tie a knot in the bottom, and you are set. There is nothing else that has to be done. When you near the end of the refill, there will be a red line letting you know you are getting low. Each bag holds about 30 or so diapers, but that depends on the size of your diapers. One refill could last around 1 to 1.5 months, depending on your child’s potty habits. When the refill runs out, run to your local Babies R Us, and purchase a new refill pack for about $5.99

In the end, the Diaper Genie II wins. It’s easy to use, keeps the stink in, and easy to replace the bags. Also, the only thing the dirty diapers touch is the blue plastic bags. So there is no cleaning involved. I would recommend this for any parent!

Diaper Genie to Help Creating A Diaper Disposal System At Home

playtex diaper genieYou know Diaper Genie, and you can rely on it, i believe that's why you came to this page. You can not find an exhaust system of layers recommended in some magazines and expect that it works perfectly within your own home. Every family is different and it means that disposal system will be different layers. The following three steps are simple tips that will be in designing a management system for the functional layers of your baby.

It is best to get a system before you bring your bundle of joy home from the hospital set. In this way, no chance of odors in your home roots. If you can not do it now, will change much easier, and is home to smell a lot better.

1: Determine your preferences layers: fabric, disposable, or a combination of both.

Use the type of layers you choose, you need different types of containers. For example, if you plan to use disposable, so you must have a very tightly closed container, where the smell of diapers can not escape before emptied. There are commercial products on the market such as engineering layer, but you can also use other containers, which are more discreet. Remember, the tightness of the cover is more important than anything else.

A sealed container of some kind will be needed for cloth diapers. The file contains the smell until you wash to get around it, which may not always immediately with a new baby in the house.
If you are perhaps some cloth diapers and supplies, you will need to have separate containers for each household.

2: The frequency with which the containers are emptied more often thought.

How often you are likely to empty the container layer of the house there are several areas where containers should be placed. For example, if you make sure the container is emptied every day and every day, even the control of the kitchen garbage, you can put the container next to the diaper bin.

A container for cloth diapers is so often in the laundry room or space in the neighborhood set, it is convenient when you are ready, they must be washed, but you have seriously thought about the size of the container is required. There is nothing worse than to underestimate, because you do not realize how many layers can be dirty in one afternoon!

3: Where do you think will change the baby most of the time?

Consider a smaller diaper pail or some sort of temporary storage areas in the house, which is usually change stations. This allows you to change a baby and relax rather than get up and running just after the layer on the main house in the bucket.

If you also need a supply of all deliveries will keep your diaper pail or clean container. You do not want their pockets at the wrong time, so Playtex Diaper Genie will come to the rescue ^_^

Research On Diaper Pail Dillema, There's Only One Way to Go - Diaper Genie II

playtex diaper genieDo you know about Playtex Diaper Genie? I see because you're here, there's a good chance that you are looking for the multitude of products that you could possibly purchase for your unborn / newborn child. If this is your first rodeo, then there's a good chance you haven't tried out this genre of products in the past, unless you are wearing diapers yourself and keeping them around the house. Believe it or not, the science behind the diaper pail is fairly simple; however, when you actually start to use the products as a proud parent, you may find that one product stands far above the rest. After attempting to use multiple diaper pails, the Diaper Genie II clearly stands out above the rest - where the other ones are literally now sitting in my basement. I even just bought another one through Amazon just to have handy in the main living room.
What is a "Diaper Pail"?
In a given day, especially while your child is a newborn, there is a good chance that you will be changing anywhere from 8-15 poop-filled diapers per day. In some cases, there are absolute blow-outs that require you to not only change one diaper, but perhaps multiple diapers in one changing session. The big question is...where do you put the diaper and the nasty wet wipe after you've changed it? There are a few things you could do with it I suppose...

  1. Throw it out the window and then consolidate them into one bag on garbage day. This doesn't work well especially for the aesthetics of your house, your neighbor's opinion of you, as well as the hassle of picking up the diapers on dreaded garbage day.
  2. Throw it in an open garbage can in your baby's nursery. This one works well from a convenience standpoint, but you may find that you'll be waking up in the middle of the night thinking that your house smells like a zoo - which in this case would require you to move the garbage out to the garage, or better yet, outside.
  3. Purchase a Diaper Pail! These devices sit wherever you are planning on changing your child. They are like a prison for your diapers, where not even a hint of a smell would be able to escape. All depositories are not equal, and that is exactly why this article just had to be written.

Things to look out for in a Diaper Pail
If you're about to purchase one of these diaper pails, you should most likely know what exactly to look for. Regardless of the below list, as mentioned above, there is still only ONE way to go, and that is the Diaper Genie II system. You may read on other sites that there are other things to look out for, but coming from a recent new father, there is no need to bother with anything else - trust me, I've tried!

  • Keeps odors contained: most all systems out there do a fairly decent job of keeping odor contained - after all, that is why they exist in the first place. That being said, I wouldn't worry too much about this requirement.
  • Easy to change the diaper liner: this is by far the most important consideration when purchasing a diaper pail. There are many different opinions on this one. Some diaper pails tout the fact that they can use any standard garbage bag whereas others require a specific diaper liner refill cartridge. You will find out below that although it seems nice to be able to use regular garbage bags, the actual diaper pails that offer this luxury are not user friendly enough to make this a strong selling point.
  • Ease of Use: this is the second most critical consideration when purchasing a diaper pail. Of course you want an easy to use operation - there is no point in having to fumble around with little diaper bombs in the middle of the dark and running the risk of things exploding on your nursery floor. There are different methods of actually disposing of the diapers. The first method is actually pushing the diaper through a hole, past somewhat of a clamp. The other method is placing the diaper in a hole then moving a handle to push the diaper down into the pail. The clear recommendation here is the actual pushing of the diaper down into the pail - as I have found that is the only way to actually guarantee that the diaper has been successfully compacted into the system.
  • Maximum Storage Capacity: if you don't feel like changing the diaper liner every day, you may want to look for a diaper pail that actually can store quite a few soggy diapers. This one actually goes hand in hand with the one above it. Think about it, if you are pushing the diapers through a hole and past a clamp, then you are compressing the diapers down with each entry into the pail. If you are just placing the diaper into a hole then rotating a level down to dispose of it, there is a good chance that when you have reached any kind of capacity that the pail will actually get stuck.
  • Optional: Hands-free Foot Pedal: this one might be worth a few extra dollars. Imagine you are in the middle of the night, your hands are full - one hand with a baby, and the other hand with a diaper. There are some systems that offer a foot pedal that opens the lid up for you. Absolutely not required, but a nice feature if your hands are not available
And remember this is sourced from ezinearticle.com.

Our Top Pick: The Playtex Diaper Genie II - Elite
  • Keeps Odors Contained | Score: 10 | This diaper pail does an excellent job of keeping odors contained so they are not reeking up your house. First of all, when you open up that lid, there is a clamp immediately under the lid that blocks all of the odors. Second, when you go to change the liner once it is full of dirty diapers, there is hardly ever a point where you are dealing with an open bag of exposed diapers. See refill section below for more details on this.
  • Easy to Change the Diaper Liner | Score: 9 | Changing the liner on the Diaper Genie is relatively simple. There is a refill cartridge that you place on the top of your unit, pull the bag through a hole, and then tie a knot. The best part about this pail is that when changing the liner, it has a built in bag cutter so that you almost never have to expose the diapers to the air...you can simply cut the bag off, and tie it shut immediately.
  • Ease of Use | Score: 9 | Using the Diaper Genie is fairly simple. To insert a diaper into, you open the lid, and push the diaper through a hole and past a clamp. Once it is pushed through the clamp, the diaper is sealed off from the rest of the world. You typically know when it is full when it is hard to push the diaper through the clamp. The good news is that you can potentially fit more diapers in this unit because you can physically force the diapers down into each other, thus making more space.
  • Maximum Storage Capacity | Score: 8 | As mentioned above, the Diaper Genie is unique because you are actually pushing the diapers down every time you use the unit. That being said, you are compacting the diapers so you can fit more into it. I find that I generally would change the diaper genie once every 4 days; therefore I squeeze about 50 diapers in there before I elect to change it.
  • Optional: Hands-Free Foot Pedal | Score: 8 | This isn't an absolute requirement in diaper pails; however, that one time where both of your hands are full in the middle of the night and you can't quite bend down to reach the lid - it might be well worth the few extra bucks.
So get ready to purchase Playtex Diaper Genie now.
